Frank Fred Mann (Mangialardi), 77, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, with his wife and daughter at his side, April 14, 2010. Fred was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Chicago. He was an all-star athlete. In high school, Fred was an All-State and All-Catholic football player and was class president at St. Phillips High School. He received a full scholarship to the University of Notre Dame and was a standout football player and graduated in 1954. Fred met the love of his life, Lois, at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. They have been inseparable for over 55 years, and they raised three children together. Fred was a successful businessman for 30 years and after retirement, went back to college and became a nurse. Fred was a gentle and kind man loved by all who had the luxury of meeting him. He was first and foremost a family man, who loved all sports, dancing and the horse races. Fred is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Barbara Hardin; sons, John (Jennifer) Mann and Tom (Elisa) Mann; grandchildren, Lucas, Angela, Rachal, Fiona and Elias; and brother, Chris (Bonnie) Mangialardi. He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Barbara Mangialardi; and son-in-law, Les Hardin. Viewing will be from noon-7 p.m. Monday, April 19. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
