Frank Fondo, passed away peacefully at home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 8, 2017 at 81 years of age. He was born on April 4, 1936 in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Fondo.
Frank was preceded in death by Ann Fondo, his loving wife of 37 years; and Barbara Adams, his sister.
Frank is survived by a dedicated and loving son Francis J. Fondo (Frank J.), along with son Steven Fondo, and daughter Denise Fuller. His memory will be cherished by his brother Alfred Fondo and wife Pat; sister Betty Markey and husband Thomas; sister-in-law Josephine Blackburn and husband Charles; niece Emma Apps and husband Colin, and their two children, Phoebe and Benjamin Apps; sister-in law Margaret Bristow and family; and brother-in-law Anthony Mayock and family.
Frank was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, honorably discharged at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after 26 years of service in which he served in England, Thailand, Germany and many other countries and numerous bases in the United States. After leaving the Air Force, Frank continued to serve his country working for EG&G Special Projects at the Nevada Test Site for 15 years until his retirement in 1998.
During his retirement years, Frank found joy in playing golf, and traveling with his son Frank J. and close friends Mike Wroblewski, Adam Horowitz and wife, Stephanie Bruckner. Frank was a proud Las Vegas resident of 44 years. He was an active donor to UNLV and a loyal season ticket holder to UNLV Football and Basketball programs.
Funeral services will be held May 19, 2017 at 9:00am at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
