Frances (Frankie) Howard Johnson passed away peacefully on March 17, 2019, in Las Vegas, NV. She was born in Independence, MO, on September 6, 1928. Frankie graduated from William Chrisman High School where she developed a talent for accounting and economics. She was Controller at Maurice L. Brown Oil Company in Kansas City for many years and continued tax and estate trust accounting after relocating to Las Vegas in 1988.
Frankie was a passionate competitive sports fan, particularly baseball and football for the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, even traveling to Ft. Myers, FL for Royals’ spring training. She enjoyed bowling and competed in many leagues following high school. After moving to Las Vegas, she developed an interest in tennis, especially local favorite Andre Agassi. She was always interested in hearing about her grandchildren’s latest achievements and life developments. More than anything she loved a game of cards or board games around a table with her kids and grandkids. She was known as Nana to her grandchildren and made the BEST company casserole on the planet! We will miss her.
Frankie was a member of the Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church of Overland Park, KS, and First Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas. She was also a member of the Junior League of Independence, MO.
