Esmeralda Medina

Esmeralda, known as Chata to her family, was born in Los Angeles, California, to Alejandro Candelario and Maria Dolores Torres on October 1, 1977. She attended John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, California. She married Kyle Tyler Domina on May 27, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked as a Property Manager for 24 years and was regarded as an expert in her field earning numerous certifications. Her greatest honor was being able to assist seniors, children, and the underprivileged with housing and other resources.

Being a wife and mother was one of the greatest joys of Esmeralda’s life. She did not take a single moment for granted, striving every day to be the best role model to her daughters. She loved her family dearly and referred to her nieces and nephews as “my kids.” Chata was a creative spirit who loved helping others with her various talents. She had an incredible sense of humor. Her positivity and perseverance to work through life’s many challenges made her a warrior in the eyes of many. She will be remembered for her confidence and beauty, inside and out, which left an unforgettable impression with everyone she met.

Esmeralda is preceded in death by Maria Dolores Torres, mother; Alex Candelario, Jr., brother; Christian Angel Candelario, nephew; and Carolina Candelario, her Mami Caro.

Esmeralda is survived by her loving spouse Kyle Tyler Domina; her daughters Luna Mia Hernandez and Nakya Marie Domina; ex-spouse Antonio Hernandez, Jr.; brother and sisters Rocio Del Rio, Nancy Candelario, Isidro Candelario, Xochitl Candelario, Elizabeth Candelario; father Alejandro Candelario; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who affectionally called her Tia Chata or Tia Cha-Cha.

The family of Esmeralda wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Henry Igid, her oncologist, the nurses and staff at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada at the Summerlin location as well as family, friends, and everyone who supported her during her cancer treatment journey.

Remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends.

A visitation for Esmeralda will be held Monday, February 5, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123. A committal service will occur Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
