Emma Alvarez

Emma Alvarez, age 94, passed away on January 14, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on April 9, 1929, in Cárdenas, San Luis Potosí. Emma was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Emma was a dedicated and loving nanny for 35 years, caring for children with kindness and compassion. She also worked as a housekeeper for 3 years and as a laundry attendant for 15 years. Emma's hard work and dedication were admirable, and she took pride in her profession.

An animal lover and a cancer survivor, Emma had a kind heart and a positive spirit. She had a great sense of humor and always brought laughter to those around her. Emma enjoyed spending time in her garden, nurturing plants and creating a beautiful sanctuary for herself and the wildlife that visited.

Emma was a woman of faith and found solace in her religious beliefs. Her spirituality guided her through life's challenges, and she was a source of strength for her family and friends. Emma's unwavering faith gave her comfort and peace, and she will be remembered for her devotion to God.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Martha Hernandez, and son-in-law, Jesus Hernandez. She was a proud grandmother to Susana Hernandez [John P. Moore-Colao], Gabriel Hernandez [Ashley Hernandez], Devina Perez-Alvarez, Vanessa Perez. Emma was also a loving great-grandmother to Savannah Moore, Josiah Valdez, Ethan Hernandez, Nathanial Valdez, Amerie Perez-Marquez, Marcel Valdez, Luciano Valdez, Jason Siano, Kyra Perez-Marquez, Sofia Hernandez, and Gionni Lovato. She was preceded in death by her father, Francisco Alvarez, mother, Carlota Barrios, aunt, Rosa Alton, and son, Roberto Alvarez.

A visitation for Emma will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A graveside service will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
