

MSGT Elijah Edmonds, USAF, (Retired) was born February 5, 1930 in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late June Samuel and Florine Fabor Edmonds. He was the second child out of seven. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He servved proudly first in the United States Army, and then in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Elijah married Edith Louise Carter, September 3, 1957. During their forty-six year union, they were blessed with four children: Melanie, Gina, Gerald (Tony), and Michael. After retiring from the USAF, he worked for the Clark County School District as a head Custodian and Boiler Room Maintenance Man. He retired from this position in 1994. His beloved Edith, as well as his brothers, Mr. June Samuel Edmonds, Joseph Edmonds, and Benjamin Edmonds, precede him in death. Those left to cherish his precious memories, four children: Melanie R. Roberts of Charleston, South Carolina, Gina A. Clark of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gerald A. Edmonds of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Michael E. Edmonds of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren: Jeanteil Jackson Livingston of Dover, Utah, Perris D. Clark of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ciara A. Clark of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Julio Jaime Roberts Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ernestine James, Evelyn Edmonds, and Rebecca Edmonds all of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends who will miss him deeply.
