101 years well lived. Under the loving care of his family and hospice, Bob Murphy passed away at his home in Las Vegas, May 15, 2020.
Bob was born in Fargo, February 4, 1919 to Thomas and Catherine Murphy. After graduating from Fargo Central in 1937, he attended North Dakota Agricultural College. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, Bob enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served bravely in the South Pacific.
June 25, 1946, Bob married Alvina Brunelle at St Mary’s Cathedral. He spent his career in various plumbing and heating businesses in the Fargo area. Upon retiring, Bob and Alvina moved to Las Vegas and together spent their leisure time traveling. Bob was thrilled to be included on Nevada’s first World War II Honors Flight to Washington DC in 2013, at the age of 94. Alvina passed away in 2015 after 69 years of marriage.
Bob is survived by his sons, Michael (Lyn) Frazee, MN; Timothy (Martha Hill) Las Vegas, NV; Shawn (Lisa) Las Vegas, NV; and daughter Kelly (Joe) Callahan The Villages, FL; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Alvina, his brother William, and great grandsons, Connor and Wyatt.
A memorial and internment will occur at a later date.
