Eddie Joe Williams was born into the union of Edd and Lonnie Douglas Williams (Deceased) in Los Angeles, California on February 17, 1945. He was the oldest of three children — Voncile Williams Rabb McCalebb (Deceased), Ada Williams Stallworth (Deceased). Eddie resided in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife Jerrilyn Williams. Before retirement he lived in Compton, Lynwood, and Cerritos, California. He answered his call on December 22, 2020.
In the early stages of his life, he attended George Washington Elementary School, Compton High School (1963) and Compton College. He was an avid sports person and loved baseball, basketball, football, track, and soccer. In addition, he enjoyed photography, gardening, and fishing. Before and after retirement, golfing was his outlet to connect with his buddies.
Eddie’s career included positions at the VA Hospital, Long Beach, California and Texaco Oil Refinery, Wilmington, California. Eddie was a dedicated worker for 36 years serving in various compacities within the refinery — Engineer Assistant, Senior Engineer Assistant, Technical Assistant, and Senior Technical Assistant. A pioneer in establishing integration in the workplace at Texaco, he received several awards and certificates for his dedication and work in the Engineering Department — Texaco’s Stellar Award, a Fire and Safety Specialist Certificate, and a Thirty-Year Service Award. In addition, Eddie was instrumental in establishing the Los Angeles Refinery Employee and Retiree Golf Tournament fundraiser for United Way. He received the T-Master Pioneer Award in appreciation for his vision and dedication.
Eddie was married to Cynthia Williams (deceased) and had one son, Darren Williams.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Jerrilyn Williams; son, Darren Williams (Jarcelyn); grandchildren, Rashad, Zariah, and Darian; uncle, Elzie Williams (Dorothy); aunt, Claudine Douglas; niece, Lisa Rabb Jones (Craig); daughter, Andrina Johnson; son, Alonzo Reed (Kasie) and their son, Alonzo Reed, Jr.; niece, LaShawn Rabb Johnson and her son, Michael Williams; niece, Stephanie Stallworth and children; Goddaughter, Daryl Brown (Devin), son, Colton Brown; beloved cousins and many loving friends..
