Doris Yvonne White-Taylor was born on November 19, 1936 to the union of Billie C. Yarrington-White and Isaac White Sr. in Tallulah, Louisiana, who both preceded her in death. Doris Taylor had 10 siblings which are: brothers Kenneth White (D), Isaac White Jr. (D), Daniel White (D), Bill White (D) and Dwight White; sisters Catherine White (D), Geraldine Joiner (D), Russce White and Mary Scaiffe-White, all of Las Vegas. Doris was the oldest out of 10 children making her one tough cookie.
In 1951, Doris moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she attended high school and went on to be employed in the hotel industry for 40-plus years. In 1966, she married the love of her life, Bobby G. Taylor, who also preceded her in death in 1989. Doris and Bobby had two children, Carl Summers and Bobby G. White (D), both of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Doris was very compassionate and loved everyone, she had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that would warm your heart. Everyone who knew Doris knew she loved cooking, dressing up really jazzy, being with family and most of all fishing. So in 1994, Doris packed up and relocated to her husband’s home town in Arkansas to enjoy the outdoor activities. Shortly after, she returned back to Las Vegas to be with her family and friends where she then continued her employment as a security guard at S.O.A. until she was 80 years of age.
Doris is survived by her oldest son Carl Summers; four grandchildren Aquai Crump (Las Vegas), Savasha Feazell (Las Vegas), Tian Summers (Chicago) and Larion Feazell (Las Vegas); eight great-grandchildren Taylor Polk, Tayana Crump, Tenae Crump, Tione Crump, Shay Scott, Nasya Summers, Tyre Summers and Lanai Feazell; and a host of relatives and friends.
