Donald R Schafer

Donald R. Schafer passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2017. Donald was born in Bellingham Washington on March 11,1948 to Raymond and Gertrude Schafer. The family moved to Riverside, Ca when Donald was a toddler, he met and married his wife Mary Turner and they had two children, Lloyd Russell (Rusty) Schafer and Diana Hughes. He and Mary decided to make the move to Las Vegas in 1993, where he enjoyed his passion of horse racing and football. Donald is survived by his wife Mary Schafer and children Rusty Schafer and Diana Hughes. Sisters Betty Otjen, Charlotte Preciado, Sharon Reed, Sue Coddington and Debbie Zamora. Grandchildren Andy and Kailie Schafer, Xavier, Isaiah and Elijah Hughes. Great Granddaughter Macie Grace Leftwich. Services will be held in Las Vegas at Palm Mortuary Northwest on 6701 N. Jones Blvd. at 10.00am with a viewing before and reception after at Rusty's home 1812 La Calera Ave. North Las Vegas,NV.
