Donald W. Moore was born February 24, 1933 to William and Annabelle Moore in Alabama. His sister Catherine Stevenson preceded him in death. Donald and his family re-located to Detroit Michigan in 1936, while attending Sherrad Jr, High School Donald became a paperboy and has one of the largest routs in East Detroit. He continued thru his teens winning prizes, trips and money. At this time, Donald developed a true passion for Jazz and horse racing that continued until his death. Donald while attending Northern High School in 1950 married his High School sweetheart Jennie Hale, two children were born into this union; Charlotte and son Anthony who also preceded him in death. Hence, the nick mane “Daddy 50” he was unable to serve in the Armed forces because of his eye-site and being a single father. It was unfashionable during that day and age for a father to be raising his children alone but he stepped up to the challenge. When the silver started showing in his hair a new relationship developed with the woman who’s family lived across the street for-more the 30 years. This relationship was with Ida J. (Humphries) Crenshaw. Being already friends they were more than surprised when in time they fell in love. After their retirement they re-located to Las Vegas and on December 24th 1997 the two were married and the two families joined together. Donald and Ida both wore hardhats as they watched their dream home being built and for more than 20 years together, they lived and loved the American Dream. Donald was employed by Wayne County for 36 years and retired as supervisor of Wayne County of Michigan Stock Department. On February 8th 20017 Donald changed his address with good-bye’s and no sad songs. He leaves those behing to honor and celebrate his life a loving wife Ida J. Moore. Daughter Charlotte Ann son-in-law Marcel MeGehee of Florida, Step-daughter’s Joey & Judi Crenshaw, grand-children Yolanda Stovall (Dereck). Dr. Kassandra Boisre, Justin Dotson (L.V.) Davi Wong (KS) , great grandchildren Kennedy Jordan, Nichola’s Boisre, Courtney Stoval and Zipporah Wanjohi, Nieces june Wardell, Wilda White, Dena Monds, nephews, William (Mickey) Stevenson, Leslie, Carl, Lonnie & Douglas Stevenson; Good Neighbors and good friends some that will meet him at the Gate.
