Donald Marvin Erickson

Born in Kiowa Colorado on December 4, 1933. He was one of six children born to Stella and Denver Erickson. Don was raised by his grandmother, Mae, from the age of 5, after his mother passed away due to childbirth complications.

He went to Elizabeth Union High School for elementary through high school. He played basketball and baseball all four years of high school, earning a letter. Don joined the Navy and served from 1952-1956.

Don met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Lois, at a dance in Elizabeth, Colorado. They were dating just over a year when they were married. They remained married until Lois’s passing in December 2002.

Together, Lois and Don had four children, eight grandchildren, and welcomed two great grandchildren before Lois’s passing. Don lived on to welcome a total of 14 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.

Don had an interest in and love of many things. Above all was his family then came his dog, Taz. Others included playing poker, Christmas, crafting/wood working, sports, TV game shows, fudge covered Oreos, Dr. Pepper, and especially significant was his love for life savers.

Don was the patriarch of the Erickson family. He was loved dearly by not only his family but by all who knew him. He was a generous and caring man. The impact he had on the lives of his family and the memories he leaves them with will be forever cherished. He was and will always be loved deeply! His family will miss him every day.

Until his family is reunited in Heaven, they take comfort in knowing he is waiting for them alongside Lois. Together again, Sweetie and Honey!

A memorial service for Donald will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129.

A committal service will occur Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:40 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
