As the eldest daughter of an Iglesia Ni Cristo minister's family, Ditas was a shining example of kindness and humility, making new friends with her welcoming personality and infectious laugh and treating all those she spoke to with love and respect.
She led a quiet, but colorful life, spending her youth with her family, following her father's ministry work throughout the Philippines, then her early adult years in Japan working abroad. She eventually immigrated to the states when she married Sonny Rios in 1991.
Between 1992 to 2001, she became the mother to four very lucky children, whom she loved so fiercely and with all her heart. She guided them with a firm hand, but never let a day go by without reminding them how much she loved them.
Ditas was a diligent worker, both in faith and in career. For almost all of her life, she worked in the finance offices of the Oxnard and Las Vegas locales. In her career, she worked at the United States Postal Service for a little over 27 years.
Despite any hardships and trials she dealt with, she was always a positive force against them. This was especially true when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021. She fought as hard as she could, and was even blessed with a year of remission, but eventually lost her battle on July 15, 2024.
Ditas never let any of her friends and family forget how much she loved and appreciated them, and in her absence, we hope all those who were fortunate enough to know her remember how much she cared.
She is survived by her mother, Jasmin De Leon-Gonzales, and her sister, Joy Victoria Farillas, as well as her husband, Sonny, and her children, Christine, Nichelle, Darielle, and Lyle.
A visitation for Ditas will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, followed by a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
