Obituary
Our Heavenly Father saw fit to call Dianne Joiner from labor to reward on Monday, May 3, 2010. Dianne Joiner was born to Aaron Hicks and Savannah (Gultry) Joiner on November 4, 1953, in Monroe, Louisiana. Both of her parents have preceded her in death. In 1965, Dianne and her siblings moved from their home in Tallulah, Louisiana and became residents of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She received her primary education at Right Elementary School in Tallulah, Louisiana and her secondary education here in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of Western High School’s graduating class. Dianne being determined and motivated went onward from high school to the Community College of Southern Nevada where she received her Associates of Arts in Hotel Management.
She worked for over 18 years at the Dunes Hotel & Country Club.
Dianne came to know the Lord at an early age and was baptized at the First Colored Church of Tallulah, Louisiana. It was also there she became a member of the Junior Eastern Stars. In April 1976, she united with the New Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Pastor John Henry, Jr.. She was active in many church auxiliaries. She was a Sunday School teacher, Assistant Secretary, Usher and continued her membership at New Light M.B.C. until she was called home.
Dianne leaves to cherish her memories: One daughter, Sylvia Desire Joiner-Greene, One son, Elder Sigmund Demond Joiner, One grand-daughter, Rae’Ven Nicole Dillard, One Son-In– Law, Edgar Allen Greene, Jr. Two brothers, Robert Christion & James Turner, Two sisters, LuBirtha Christian & Dorothy Christian-Holloway all of whom reside in Las Vegas, Nevada. One brother Thadius Gultry & One sister Willie Ann Joiner have preceded her in death
Long-time and dedicated friend Diana Guy, Special Cousin Maxine Lomax, God Mother Minister Eddie Council a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
