Derek R. Elsberry was born May 24th, 1971, in Cleveland Ohio to parents, Robert E. Elsberry (Deceased) and Gloria Parr (Deceased).
Derek received our Lord and Savior at a young age. He attended Trinity High School in Garfield Heights, Ohio. He attended Cleveland State University where he met his lovely wife, Tracey. He furthered his education at the College of Southern Nevada where he obtained his degree in videography and film.
In 1998, Derek married the love of his life Tracey L. Lee. At a young age being a visionary that Derek was in 1997, he opened his Record Store, he named it Crazy Dee’s Muzic Palace in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. Then bravely opened a second location in Maple Heights, Ohio. While running both businesses Derek branched out into photography, music producing, engineering, scriptwriting, acting, and filmmaking. Then Derek decided to go into film making and editing full-time and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
When Derek moved to Las Vegas he got into the world of Podcasting; The Film Review was the first with his wife Tracey, the others were NBTF with the late Franklyn G and Cee-Mo and Observations with his beloved sister the late Tonya Congress.
As a filmmaker, Derek won numerous awards and laurels for his film projects including The Las Vegas International Film Festival Silver Ace Award for his short film Females. Derek had such a love for music especially Djing. It even prompted his mom to purchase his first set of turntables. He Disc Jockeyed fraternity and sorority parties on college campuses. He threw many hall parties during the ’90s. Once his popularity began to grow, he began producing Remix Tapes.
Derek was active in community service. He was a visionary, outgoing, humorous, compassionate, and loving.
Derek departed this life on March 29, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Derek leaves to mourn, his eternal love wife Tracey. His father-in-law John W. Lee Jr., Sister-in-law Kelley Jenkins (Will), Brother-in-law Thomas Congress, Niece Khaila Wilson, Nephew Melvin Wilson, and Grand Nephew Davon Rainey and a host of cherished family and friends.
