Dennis Leon Downey

Dennis was born April 8, 1946 in Tennessee and was out up for adoption. When Dennis was 18 months old, Jack and Rena Downey of California adopted him. Dennis grew up an only child and lived in various cities around the California valley. His love for the California coast never went away.

Dennis served in the Air Force branch of the military and was honorably discharged. He spent most of his adult life living in the Arizona and Nevada desert.

Dennis enjoyed doing things like camping, NASCAR, watching cars on tv, driving cars, talking about cars, dreaming about cars and watching dogs videos He also loved Chinese food, mushrooms and vodka. Dennis was an honest man and was generous to a fault. My father was smart, and funny. Although a man of few words, he was a good listener and a keeper of secrets. Dennis was a hard worker and was worked much of his time in or around cars.

Dennis is survived by his four children, daughters Christan Mia Bringhurst and Carre Laura Downey, sons Jacob Aaron Downey and David Michael Downey. Dennis had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

There will be no service and cremation took place Thursday, August 10, 2023. All funeral arrangements were carried out by Palms Mortuary.

Dad, you were so loved and will be terribly missed. Your chair is empty, the TV is off and your dogs have gone potty, so enjoy your time wherever you ended up - hopefully your fishing in every place you ever wanted to go.
