Minister David was born in Oklahoma City, OK, to the union of Hallie D. and Jacquelyn D. Williams. Min. David passed peacefully from this life the morning of November 20, 2020 after a rapid decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life.
At an early age, Min. David accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized. He was licensed to preach April 28, 1996, at Fairview Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. J.A. Reed, Jr. He was the Lead Drummer of the Southwest Regional Music Workshop from 1984 until his passing.
Min. David’s passion for drums was since birth. His first set was his mother’s coffee table and her pots and pans. His first “professional job” was at Gary Avenue Baptist Church, at age 8. This passion led him to mentor and teach numerous drum students. David moved to Las Vegas, NV in 2004 to play drums with the “big dogs”. He had a dream to play the Las Vegas Strip, and this dream was realized on February 28, 2020 when he played the Tastes and Sounds of Soul Festival on the stage of the Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience.
