David Rodriguez

He was born January 13, 1933, in Las Vegas, to Albert and Jesse Rodriguez. He graduated from Las Vegas High School and served in the United States Navy, stationed in the Philippines and working with the SeaBees, the Navy Construction Battalion. After discharge, he attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa Idaho, where he met Betta Meyers, who became his wife on September 5, 1958.

David worked as an electrician in Las Vegas, spending years working on various Las Vegas hotels and commercial and residential construction. David and Betta built their dream house in 1976, with David completing nearly every phase of construction himself, including the electrical, plumbing, framing, sheetrock, and masonry work. David was a lifelong builder and craftsman. He had many talents, including woodworking, and was at his happiest working in his shop. David was quick to offer help and always did his best to fix any problem he came across. He loved good food, especially homemade desserts. He would never turn down pie, cake or ice cream, many times saying "yes" to all three at once. One of his favorite things was getting donuts on Saturday mornings with friends, and an apple fritter was always his first choice.

David was preceded in death by his dear wife Betta, his parents Albert and Jesse, and his sister Esther Martinez and his brother Albert Rodriguez, jr.

David is survived by his children Michael Rodriguez (Jackie), and Renee Eardensohn (Randy). He has seven grandchildren; Cameron Rodriguez, Emily Brenneman (Ross), Rachel Demakas (Nick), Nicholas Eardensohn, LeeAnne Modlin (Spencer), Mason Rodriguez, Matthew Eardensohn. He also has 4 great grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter.

David is also survived by his siblings Lupe Morgan, Sarah Robinson, Ruben Rodriguez, and Connie Biggs.

Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, January 7, 2023, at Liberty Baptist Church, 6501 W Lake Mead Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89108. Burial will be at 11:30 AM at Bunker's Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 7251 W Lone Mountain Rd., Las Vegas, NV, 89129.
