SMSGT. DAVID VANN SR. U.S. Air Force, Retired SMSgt. David Lee Vann Sr., U.S. Air Force (ret.), born Aug. 26, 1935, in Clinton, N.C., passed away April 28, 2013. He was a resident of Las Vegas for 39 years. David was a family man and loved to garden and fish. He especially loved being of service to his fellow man. He is survived by his wife, Hattie L. Vann; his daughter, Barbara Vann-Brown of Las Vegas; his son, David L. Vann Jr. of Clayton; four grandchildren, Kevin Brown, Brandon Brown, Dallas Vann and Tiffany Vann; and many family members and friends. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. A special service will follow, 5-7 p.m., by the Brothers of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Nevada. A homegoing service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Nellis Air Force Base Chapel, 4475 England Ave., Nellis AFB, North Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nevada Prince Hall Masonic Foundation, Lodge #1.
