Dante Joseph Corso, 78, passed away on June 6, 2022, in hospice care in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on August 16, 1943, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to Alfred Anthony Corso and Helen Marie (Caponecchi) Corso.
Dante grew up in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Coraopolis High School in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania in 1961. After high school he:
• Attended university at Penn State in University Park, Pennsylvania where [he/she] received a Bachelors Degree of Science in Industrial Engineering.
• Joined the United States Navy in 1966 and served for 21 years. He was the recipient of [medals, awards, etc.]. He retired in 1987, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. During his service he earned his flight certification for both fixed wing and rotary wing craft at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, and maintained his airman status for 19 years. He flew special operations and was both a test pilot and flight instructor, specialized in security operations and logistics, and a lead pilot in the Nasa Apollo mission operations.

• Began work for Clark County as Security Agent for the Department of Aviation in 1993. He subsequently worked for Clark County as a Marriage Commissioner, then as analyst for the Planning Commission, and finally as a Sr. Engineering Analyst for the Zoning Commissioners in Clark County Public Works. He retired in 2009 after 16 years.
Dante married Pia Maria de Pagani in 1971 in San Diego, California. They had two sons, Christian Corso and Jean-Paul Corso They were married for 17 years until they divorced. Dante then married Elizabeth Naomi Barringer in 1989 to-present.
Dante was a member of the Sigma Delta Nu Nu fraternity. He enjoyed flying, gardening, tennis, college and professional football, and cycling. He also received numerous medals as a competing cyclist in the Clark County Corporate Challenge for cycling.
Dante was preceded in death by his father, Alfred, and mother, Helen.
Dante is survived by his spouse Elizabeth; his sons Christian Corso and Jean-Paul Corso of Las Vegas, Nevada; his brother Armand (and wife Karen) Corso of El Cajon, California; his grandson Francesco; and his niece Lisa and nephews Brian and Steven and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada at 3:00 PM on August 7th, 2022, at Palm Mortuary Funerary Services. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at 2:30 PM.
