Danilo Buenaflor Soriano, 79, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, September 14, 2017. Dan was born May 15, 1938 in Manila, Philippines and has been a resident of Nevada since 1998. He was a dedicated physician who saved many lives over the course of his career. He received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines and practiced as a neurosurgeon in New York and Chicago for more than 25 years. Dan was a passionate musician who played violin and piano when he relaxed from his busy neurosurgery practice. He was an avid chamber musician and played in the first violin section of the Henderson Symphony for a number of years. Aside from his love of music, Dan was also a philanthropist. He established a family foundation that supports education, the arts, Philippine culture, and health care. Known as Danny, Lolo, and Tito Danny to those who loved him, he was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother Leonisa Buenaflor, his father Restituto Soriano, and his brother Restituto Soriano, Junior. He is survived by Lydia—his wife of 53 years, his sons Brian and Perry, and his daughter Jennifer as well as their spouses Laura, Senan and Juan and his grandchildren Ben, Mia, Elise and Teodoro. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 4-7PM at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89128.
