So sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.  Dan was a great officer and checked on me and my department often at one of the satellite CSN locations.  We felt safe when he was around.  He will be missed.

Daniel was very friendly and at the same  time a professional and dedicated officer. Only God knows why it happened at this time. He will also give you the fortitude to bear this great loss by His grace. Please read Isaiah 57:1. (Uche Dappa, CSN)

My deepest condolences to the entire Nordstrom family. Our Department will never be the same losing one of our own. Dan was a great police officer and just an all around great man. I am grateful to have know him for the past 9 years.  I still owe him that one on one basketball game that we never got to play. Till we meet again my friend.

With all our Love Nursing Department

I worked with Daniel at CSN in Building M. He was a very dedicated Officer and he will be missed.

A dedicated family man who was passionate about his work and his faith. Dan was mentally strong, loving and he was always so proud of all of his family members. I remember Dan as a role model and a person who stood up for what he believed in.

I am very blessed having known Dan Nordstrom and to call the Nordstroms my "friends" for over the past four years now. I have never met such an honorable, humble, good man. Dan was a dedicated, loving father and husband and loved being a police officer. He loved all of God's children and set out as a foster parent to love all children who came through his home, whether it was for a short time or whether that child was in need of a "forever home." Dan and Patricia selected to care for some of the most needy children in all of Clark County by being one of only a handful of foster parents skilled in caring for medically fragile foster children in a population of 2 million with over 3200 children in foster care. That skill set is what led to Dan and Patricia becoming a forever family for his son, DD, who proceeded Dan in death, just shy of a year before him. DD was blessed having found a forever family in the Nordstrom home. I can honestly say in my 14 years with DFS, I have never met a family that advocates so fiercely for their children as Dan and Patricia. They love on their children so DEEPLY, that I wished I was a Nordstrom! It's so hard to believe Dan is gone. It's surreal. I still remember the call Friday early morning. 

I know it's said that "God won't give you more than you can handle," and while I know Patricia and her children are strong, I cannot imagine being in their shoes. It is our DUTY to love on this family the way Dan would want us to. Perhaps God believed DD needed his earthly father with him? Whatever the reasons that I don't understand, we need to bubble wrap this family in our love long after the shock of this devastating loss wears off. Sometimes life just isn't fair. God must've needed a REALLY good angel because he CERTAINLY got one with Dan. 

Dan, I promise you that I will watch over your family the way that you would want me to. I can't promise to do it without tears because my chest hurts every time I speak about  you in past tense. Know that we will all love on them and continue to walk this path of life right next to them. We will be there with them along all life's accomplishments and through the tough times too. Rest easy man. EOW 9/5/2019. Take care of DD.

My heart is with the family. I always liked running into or just seeing Dan (Officer Nordstrom) on campus. The words I am left with are "safe" and "welcoming". Thank you for gracing our workspace with your strong presence. 

I consider myself very fortunate to have known Dan thru work and away from work for he had the ability to make friends easily with others.  I feel very blessed to have known him and shared several rafting experiences with Dan, his family and friends.  May he rest in eternal peace knowing how much he has left a significant imprint on all that crossed his path.  

A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. Please accept our condolences, he will never be forgotten.
