Daniel "Moon" John Mullen

Daniel "Moon" Mullen passed away Tuesday, January 4th, after complications from surgery. Moon was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to John "Jack" and Mary Ursula Mullen on February 29, 1948. He grew up in Beaver, PA, along with his three sisters, Sue (Gene) Cagni, Maureen (Tom) Burns, and Nancy Mullen (Shane Miller) and one brother Tim Mullen.

Moon was a loving husband to his wife of 41 years, Kate (Taylor) Mullen, father to Christina (Wade) Schmidt, and Joe Mullen. He was also a grandfather to his one-year-old granddaughter and light of his life, Callie Schmidt. Moon had many nieces and nephews.

Moon was truly a one-of-a-kind character. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He loved to listen and dance to the Oldies/Doo Wop music. He enjoyed trying his luck at the local poker room and meeting his many lifelong friends for weekly Zoom talks. He also enjoyed his weekly breakfasts with his brother-in-law and other friends.

Moon served in the U.S. Army as a drill sergeant. He worked for many years as a crap dealer and casino host at multiple Las Vegas Strip properties.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10:00 am at St Thomas More Catholic Community in Henderson, NV.
