Cynthia Taranto-Hawken, 66, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefullly, Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, surrounded by friends and family. She was born Aug. 14, 1947, to Annette and Salvatore Taranto, in Biloxi, Miss., and was a 58-year resident of Las Vegas. Cynthia was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Her positive attitude, determination and courage during her 15-year battle with breast cancer will forever be an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. She was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and Stanford Cardinals. Her love for her grandchildren gave her the strength to fight and live beyond conventional exception. Cynthia is survived by her husband, Larry; sons, Jake (Mikki) and Anthony; grandchildren, Madison and Andrew; sisters, Ann of Biloxi, Charlene of Redding, Calif., and Annette of Las Vegas; and brother, Eddie of Las Vegas.
Celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Palm/King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane.
