Connie Mae Earl Stephens, an 83 year resident of Las Vegas,died November 23, 2010. She was the daughter to former Mormon pioneer and Clark County Commissioner Ira J. Earl. Connie was married to Richard Brown Stephens of Ogden, Utah for 32 years. They raised five children in Las Vegas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira J. Earl and Ada Lovisa Leavitt Earl; her husband, Richard B. Stephens; a daughter, Janice Ann Stephens Tippetts; a granddaughter, Emily Tippetts; and her four brothers, Don L. Earl, Jack C. Earl, Harold L. Earl, and Ira Roy Earl. She is survived by three sons, Richard D. Stephens, Michael J. Stephens, Mark A. Stephens; and a daughter, Debra Lynn Stephens Christensen all of Las Vegas. Connie has 20 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. She was born October 28, 1927 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She held many positions in the L.D.S. church including Primary President, R.S. President, Sunday School Coordinator and others. She managed her family business including the Bridger Hotel, Cozy Rest and Lido Motels, along with 13 rental houses. For 20 years she held Link-To-Life luncheons in her own home for others. She was a member of 2 scripture study groups for many years. For for years, starting in 1994, Connie served as a temple worker in the Las Vegas LDS Temple. She also served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1992. All services will be held at the LDS Smoke Ranch Chapel, 7401 Smoke Ranch Road, Las Vegas on Friday, December 3, 2010. Visitation is scheduled from 11:00am to 12:00pm in the Relief Society Room, followed by Family Prayer at 12:00pm to 12:30pm, also in the Relief Society Room. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 12:30pm. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 N. Las Vegas Boulevard. A Reception will be held back at the LDS Smoke Ranch Chapel from 4:00pm to 6:00pm
