Coney Lerio Olaco, age 46, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
Coney was born on July 16, 1977 in Surigao City, Philippines to Alberto and Florenda Olaco. She was raised with her two siblings, Alma and Alberto. In 1984, the Olaco family moved to Guam, and this is where Coney graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1996. She moved to Las Vegas in 2001 and has called Vegas home for over twenty years.
Coney was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, ninang, and dear friend. She was full of life, and she loved to have fun. She was very, very competitive, especially at the family Christmas party games. She loved to shop, try new food, play games like Sungka (Mancala) or Just Dance, and travel with Mark and the girls. Her favorite places to visit were California, Florida, and the Philippines. She was very adventurous and loved to try new things like tubing in Utah, going on amusement park rides in Disney World, or ATVing in the Philippines. She also had plenty of storage on her phone because everywhere she went, she always had to take a picture!🙂
Most of all, Coney will be remembered for her selflessness and optimism. She was constantly smiling and known for her contagious laughter, and she was the one her loved ones went to for a shoulder to lean on. She was very proud of her daughters and loved to remind them, “Be a sponge!” at school. Her most treasured memories are those spent with her family and friends. She is incredibly loved and will be dearly missed.
Coney was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Mark Anthony Bermudes. She is survived by her children, Crysty-Ann Olaco and Lexi Olaco-Bermudes; her parents, Alberto Granada Olaco Sr. and Florenda Lerio Olaco; and her siblings, Alma Olaco-Mora and Alberto Olaco Jr.
Family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 with a service to begin at 6pm, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas.
