Claudette Goodman Ray, 60, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011. She was born May 23, 1950, in Paris, Texas, and was a 40-year resident of Nevada. Claudette worked in hotel operations for many years. She was called to various positions in the LDS church, including the Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Goodman; and her sister, Lena Cook. Claudette is survived by her daughter, Mary (Glen) Spears; son, Bryce Ray; daughter, Kim (Jeffrey) Sylvester; son, Brett Ray; mother, Mary Goodman; sister, Kellie Goodman; brother, Derrick Goodman; and four grandchildren, Luke Orseno, Gregory Sylvester, Parker Sylvester and Delaney Sylvester. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at the Las Vegas 7th Ward, 3400 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Park - Northwest.
