C. Terry Raben, 84, an over 50-year resident of the Las Vegas area, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, at Sunrise Senior Living of Henderson. He was born on June 4, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri to Hyman and Harriett Raben. Terry was the oldest of three children and was preceded in death by his beloved sister Barbara (Bernie) Kaufman and survived by his younger brother Dr Danny Raben (Marian). Terry received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis. After passing his CPA exam, Terry moved to Las Vegas in 1972 to be closer to his sister and her family, and to enjoy the Las Vegas weather. Terry had a successful career in accounting, and always said that he loved it so much that it never felt like work.
In 2004, after a whirlwind courtship Terry married Barbara Grisar and inherited four bonus children, Michael, Andrew, David and Marc. In 2010, Marc would join Terry working in his CPA firm.
Terry enjoyed sports including UNLV basketball/football and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals,
He loved watching movies and reading books, but he especially enjoyed hanging out with his grandchildren. Terry worked out at least five days a week for over fifty years, and spent Saturday mornings with his best friend, Justice Michael Cherry, at the gym every Saturday for over forty years.
Terry was a very giving and kind person. He sat on many Boards and was involved in many organizations in the community. After marrying Barbara, he stopped volunteering because he thought she did enough for both of them.
Terry was devoted to the Jewish religion and to his synagogue, Midbar Kodesh Temple. For many years he attended morning minyan at Midbar Kodesh on Sunday, Monday and Thursday mornings.
Terry is survived by his wife, Barbara; brother Dr Danny Raben (Marian), son Neal Raben; daughter Holly (Kevin) Chidester and grandson Scott; bonus children including Michael (Laurie) Grisar and grandson Riley, Andrew Grisar, David Grisar, Marc (Robyn) Grisar and grandchildren Kameron, Emma and Ethan. Terry was devoted to his grandchildren, and enjoyed all the time he spent with them. Terry is also survived by brother-in-law Bernie Kaufman, loving and devoted cousins, including Barry Eisen and Chuck (Laura) Pode, and many nieces, nephews, and other cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sunrise Senior Living of Henderson for the amazing care that Terry received. Their compassion, and devotion to the resident and the family helped ease the pain of losing Terry.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Midbar Kodesh Temple in

Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 9:30 am at Midbar Kodesh Temple.
Burial will be held at 11:00 am at Palm Eastern. A meal of condolence will follow at Midbar Kodesh Temple.
