On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, Charles G. Palermo, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away in Henderson, Nevada, at the age of 84. Mr. Palermo was born on September 22, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph Palermo and Bridget (Armenti) Palermo. He grew up in Little Italy and later moved to Willowick, Ohio until 1986. Mr. Palermo worked as a foreman for the state of Ohio and proudly served in the US army as a member of the 51st Infantry from 1957 to 1961, rank of Private First Class. At the age of 50, Mr. Palermo relocated his family to Arizona, to fulfill his dream of developing their land and building their Log Cabin Home. He later helped open the Colorado Belle in 1987 while working in Laughlin, Nevada. In 2005, he retired and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Palermo is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Bridget, and by his wife Nancy (Palmer) Palermo of 31 years who passed on October 18, 1993. He is survived by his sister Lois Ann Lorenzo, his children, Nicole Foss married to Darrell Foss, and Charles Palermo married to Marlee Palermo, his grandchildren Ashley Schultz (Joseph Schultz), Jake Palermo, Alexandra Foss, Bailee Foss, Taylor Palermo, and Kristina Foss, and by his great grandchild Brantley Schultz.
He loved spending time with his family, and he had a special bond with his grandchildren and great grandson. He was known for his kind heart, witty sense of humor and always making time for those he loved. One of his favorite ways to spend an afternoon was to watch sports – especially when his beloved Cleveland Browns played. He also loved drinking coffee while playing video poker at Sunset Station and flirting with the cocktail waitresses.
Funeral services will be held privately and for immediate family only. Those wishing to honor his life can make a donation in his name to The American Cancer Society.
