Charles Arthur Nichols, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Desert Springs Hospital. Services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Palm Eastern Mortuary Chapel at 11:00am. Interment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada.
Charles Arthur Nichols was born on October 28, 1944 in Waco, Texas to parents Ida Denmon and Charlie Graves who preceded him in death; and sister Naomi Taylor.
Since living in Las Vegas he united with Remnant Ministries. He was a member of the St John Baptist Catholic Church of Waco, Texas, from 1952 until 1963.
Charles graduated from A. J. Moore High School in 1963. He immediately entered into the United States Marines Corps and retired as MSGT in 1984. He then went to work in 1984 for the United States Postal Service and retired as a supervisor in 2001. He possessed a very lovable and compassionate personality and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was married to Helen Marie Chew. They have two children, son Derek Nichols and daughter Trina Nichols. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family was very important to him and the love, respect and honor was given back to him by them all.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife Helen; his son Derek Nichols and his wife Elizabeth of Kent, Washington; his daughter Trina Nichols of Compton, California; his grandson Eric Nichols of Burien, Washington; one loving niece Gloria Farrow of Waco, Texas; three devoted nephews Jamey Farrow of Rowlett, Texas, Clyde Farrow II of Waco, Texas and Melvin Smith Jr. and his wife Diane of Seagoville, Texas; one aunt Deola Lax of Cleburne, Texas; brother-in-law Billie Chew and his wife Joyce of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law Lou Berdia Smith of Waco, Texas; and a host of nieces, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Special friends of the family, Alfred Penn, Dave and Beverly Davis, Robert Lee, Charles and Rosa Burks, Michael Evans, Frank and Myra Calara, Claudell and Ruth McGregor, Pete and Shirley Mahata, Leonard Beck, Roy and Robin Benns, and Nelson Lott.
And an outpouring of friends and many more to be named....
