Charlene united with the Jordan Hill Baptist Church in Carson, MS at an early age. She attended Carver High School in Pascagoula, MS after which she moved to Los Angeles, CA. After retiring from Norris Industries she attended and completed nursing studies in 1991. In 1992, Charlene moved to Las Vegas, NV where she lived until her death.
Charlene will be fondly remembered for her delicious cooking, entertaining her friends and family, making beautiful crafts and her love of music and dancing. Charlene loved life and lived it to the fullest.
In addition to her late parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Emerson; sister Eddie Mae Booth; brother Jewel L Coleman, Sr.; and one grandson.
She leaves to cherish her memories four children Cherri Thompson (Neal Sherrod) of Las Vegas, NV, Lisa Fountain of Nottingham, MD, and twins Victor Richardson (Erma) of Acworth, GA and Victoria Richardson of Fairburn, GA; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, her twin Williene Oatis of Pascagoula, MS, Vorgie Sullivan of Bowie, MD, and Elizabeth Sprewer of Hattiesburg, MS; five brothers Willie Coleman of Silver Spring, MD, James Coleman (Hazel) of Bassfield, MS, Ezekiel Coleman (Louise) of Oakvale, MS, Eugene Coleman (Lovey) of Corona, CA and Chester Coleman (Mary) of Winston-Salem, NC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
