Chad Edwin Tichenor, 40, of Las Vegas, passed away June 8, 2011. He was born June 3, 1971, was a Nevada native and lived his entire life in Las Vegas. Chad was a gifted carpenter and worked as a superintendent for Martin and Harris Construction. Chad was loved and well-respected by his colleagues and played an instrumental role with developing various schools, churches, professional buildings and residential homes in the Las Vegas area. Chad met Johna when they were 15 years old, and they were married eight years later in 1994. Nicholas was born in 1996, Jake in 2000 and Taylor in 2003. Chad built his family's dream home in the northwest area of Las Vegas, where his wife and children still reside. Chad was one of the handiest people that I knew. Chad loved to relax with his kids by watching movies and playing basketball. He was also an avid outdoorsman where he loved to go hiking, mountain biking and playing out in his pool. Chad's biggest passion, however, was motorcycle racing, where he was a top contender during his younger years of racing and then focused his time to hone his son's skills on two wheels. Chad was happiest, though, playing with his kids Nick, Jake and Taylor. Whether his time was dedicated to motorcycle riding, watching basketball games, or watching his princess's recitals, it was never a doubt that time with his kids was his passion in life. Chad was so generous and patient toward his family. He was the person who you'd always call because he'd give his full attention to a problem. He will be terribly missed. Chad is survived by his wife, Johna; kids Nick, Jake and Taylor; little brother, Stephen; and his mom and dad, Sue and Doug Tichenor. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Donations for the family can be sent to the American First Credit Union, Chad Tichenor Memorial Fund.
