Catherine "Kay" Nelson

Catherine “Kay” Nelson was born on July 16th 1935 in Brooklyn, New York to Katherine and Vincent Aiello and her light was taken from us a few days after her 87th birthday on July 24th, 2022. She was married to Robert “Bob” Nelson for 50 years who passed a few short weeks after their 50th anniversary in 2013. She was a resident of Henderson, Nevada for the last 22 years.

She is survived by her two daughters Donna Stanek (Mark) of Henderson, NV and Christine Parascando (Sal) of Henderson, NV and her five grandchildren Alicia, Nicky, Josh, Gianna and Katie. Kay loved her 6 Grand-dogs Minnie, Mickey, Blue, Piper, Toby and Stella.

Kay graduated high school and got a job on Wall Street, where she met Bob and was married a few years later. She was a lifelong homemaker and loved being around her family. She had a passion for cooking. She loved being a stay at home mom and always put her family first. She loved to bowl and be with her friends. She was a bit tough on the outside and was no push over, but that was a shell surrounding her soft heart.

A remembrance of her life will be held at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 5th, 2022 from 1-3 followed by a funeral service. She will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery and will be re-united with her soulmate Bob, on August 15th, 2022 at 10:40 AM.
