Catherine R. Kuhn, age 81 of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014. Born April 30, 1933 in Newark, New Jersey, she had been a Las Vegas resident for more than 65 years. Mrs. Kuhn was a homemaker and co-owner of Magic Wand Truck Stop at Losee and Colton. She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Las Vegas and a member of the St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church Bereavement Group. She was an avid sports fan and loved the UNLV Rebels, attending every game possible. She loved cooking huge Italian meals for her whole family and friends and getting together with her lady friends to play cards. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" and brother Sam Melchionne. She is survived by her children Clifford (Marion) Kuhn, Mark (Cheryl) Kuhn, Paul (Carol) Kuhn, Lisa (Joseph Dennis) DeLong, Nadine (Steven Dobbs) Kuhn, Lynda (Mark) Murphy; sixteen grandchildren, two step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3-6pm Sunday, October 19, 2014 with a prayer service beginning at 6pm at Palm Mortuary 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Funeral Mass will be 11am Monday, October 20, 2014 at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to your local Catholic Church.
