Carlos Andrew Casillas, a longtime resident of Nevada, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was a faithful parishioner at Saint Francis de Sales, Roman Catholic Church. He was born in Santa Monica, California, where he attended Catholic School, and served as an altar boy, as a youth. He proudly, served his country for 30 years, with the Army National Guard, retiring as a Sergeant Major while he consecutively worked for the LA County Sheriff's Department, for 28 years, as a Sheriff Deputy, retiring as a Sergeant.
Carlos then left California, moved to Las Vegas, with his then wife, Shirley. They were married for 35 years, as he helped raise her four daughters. Once in Las Vegas, he went to work with the Clark County School District for another 18 years. Shortly after Shirley's death in 2007, he met Kathy, who had three daughters, and one step son. They married and built memories together for 13 years.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy, of the family home, seven step-daughters, Christy, husband Russ, Cathy, husband Steve, Corrine, husband Tom, Shelby, Denise, Carla, Monica, husband Mike, stepson Jerry, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and two more on the way. He had two sisters, Nilda Vasquez, Yolanda Casillas, several brothers in-law, and sisters in law, lots of nephews and nieces. Carlos adored his pets and his pets adored him. He truly spoiled all his animals that he had throughout the years. Carlos loved his sports, as he played, baseball, football and basketball, throughout his life. Carlos visits to the gym we're still part of his daily routine.
Carlos loved his country, a truer patriotic person, you will never meet. His chest, would puff up, whenever anybody, would approach him, shake his hand, to thank him for his service.
Carlos will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Vaya con Dios.
