Buk Nam Kim was born on October 19, 1934 in Deagu, South Korea to Jung-Bu Yang and Bok-Gaz Seo. She was raised in South Korea with her four sisters and two brothers and lived there most of her life, even raising her own children in South Korea. On February 25, 1954 she exchanged wedding vows Sungsu Kim when she was 19 years old. Together they were blessed with three sons, Kiong, Chong, and Dustin; and two daughters, Kyong Hui and Chong Mi.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and did everything she could for her family. After her husband’s death in 1972, she continued to take care of her home and her family. They eventually moved to the United States in 1985. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and one great-grandson. Her family was her greatest love and were the most important people in her life.
Buk Nam Kim passed away on February 28, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada after a sudden stroke. She is survived by her loving children, Kiong Kim, Chong Kim, Kyong Hui Kim, Chong Mi Kim, and Dustin Kim; her grandchildren, Chehun, Taekyu, Song Yi, Christopher, Alexander, Kathryn, Andy, Kevin, Shane, and Mason; and her great-grandson, Rory. Services were held at St. Paul Jung-Ha-Sang Korean Catholic Church in Las Vegas.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed.
