Britt Ingrid Butler passed away on December 28, 2020 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on February 24, 1945 to Holger T. Axbom and Ingrid A. Larsson in Visby, Sweden. The family immigrated to America through Ellis Island on March 17, 1952.
She grew up in Kearns, Utah where she met and married William L. deGeus. They later divorced. She then met and married William L. Emmel Jr. They later divorced. Several years later, while working in the trucking business, she met and fell in love with Ellis H. Butler, Jr. They married on December 11, 1993. They had a bond most only dream of. They had a relationship full of love, acceptance, joy, and laughter.
She became involved with 22 Warriors and American War Mothers of Nevada. Britt was very proud to be an American.
She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Holger and Florence Axbom; step-father and mother Lee and Ingrid Burnett; and her brother Steven Axbom.
She leaves behind her husband Ellis; children: Deborah (Dewayne) deGeus-Gwinn, Stacey deGeus, William (Massi) Emmel III; step-children: Houston (Kate) Butler, Crystal (Dion) DelGatto, Justina (Bryan) Romero, Jennifer (Mickey) Tubbiolo; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
