Bonnie Carder Littlefield, retired travel agent and globe trotter extraordinaire, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at 78. Bonnie moved to Las Vegas in October 1957 with her husband, Wayne, who later served as captain of the Las Vegas Fire Department, and their two small children. She worked as a telephone operator, ran the front desk for the old Las Vegas Hospital and the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Credit Union, and served as a nurse before becoming a travel agent in 1980. Bonnie and Wayne Littlefield had met on adjacent farms in Socorro County, N.M., when Bonnie was 13. They were married for 52 years. They traveled all over the globe, wintering in Mazatlan and golfing as often as they could. Bonnie was the ultimate hostess and loved celebrating life with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne. She is remembered fondly by her son, Cleve Edward and wife, Pamela, of Las Vegas; daughter, Cathy and her fiance, Dennis Foster, of Las Vegas; grandson, Cleve Wayne and his fiancée, Ashley Ackland, of Redmond, Wash.; granddaughter, Christina of Cambridge, England; and many more beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, both at Palm Summerlin Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army.
