

Bobby Gene Clawson, 81, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away January 29, 2015. He was born in Texas February 2, 1933 to his parents William Bonard Clawson and Ruth Shaw. After high school, Bobby enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed at Nellis AFB. He served honorably for four years, and then continued his service for the Federal Government by becoming the Assistant Fire Chief at Nellis AFB, a position that he held for 32 years until he retired in 1983. Bobby lived life to the fullest. He owned and operated three local taverns, where he never met a stranger and loved spending time with his family and friends. Bobby played both slow and fast pitch softball; coached youth sports teams, and sponsored nationally ranked softball teams; raced stock cars, played golf, watched Nascar racing, and enjoyed supporting his Dallas Cowboys. Bobby is survived by his five children: Terri (Dave), Tina (Gary), Todd (Debbie), Tammy, and Toni (Greg); seven grandchildren: Stephanie (David), Jessica, Staci (Jarad), Jordan, Dylan, Courtney, and Christopher; eight great-grandchildren: Kylee, Emma, Jayden, Camdyn, Khloe, Paisley, Carter, and Penelope; and one sister, Marlyon.
