Bishop Val Dean "Scott" Edrington, age 80, of Las Vegas, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014. Born April 18, 1934 in Cedar View, Utah, he lived in Kamas, Utah and Shelley, Idaho before moving to Las Vegas more than ten years ago. He was a graduate of BYU and the University of Utah. Bishop Edrington served an LDS Mission to the East Central States. After moving to Las Vegas, he and his wife, KaDee, received the call to work in the Las Vegas Temple. Mr. Edrington dedicated his life to educating our youth and teaching was his passion. He was superintendent of the South Summit School District in Kamas for eighteen years and the Shelly School District for more than ten years. Scott loved hunting, fishing, square dancing and bow hunting and was a fan of BYU football. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cami Jones, grandson Val Dean Lee Edrington and two brothers. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, KaDee (nee Bastian) whom he married in the Salt Lake Temple; sons Robbie Lee (Sandra) Edrington, Kerry Jeff Edrington and Mikel Scott (Barbara) Edrington; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and brothers Ron Edrington and Johnny Edrington. Family will receive friends from 5-7pm Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. and from 10-11am Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6325 West Hacienda Ave. with services beginning at 11am. Interment will take place in Kamas, Utah.
