Betty Lou Newton

Betty was born November 19, 1933 to Joseph and Marie Childers in Idaho and grew up in Wyoming. She met her husband David Newton after moving to Los Angeles, and they were married in Long Beach in 1962.

Dave and Betty shared a love of music, even played duets together. Betty had played clarinet in the Air Force Band, and Dave was an accomplished pianist, so the two together made quite the dynamic duo. They also loved dancing to big band music and travel. They even went as far as New Zealand on a mission together. One of her last trips was a cruise to Cuba with her daughter.

Betty most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as attending church. She was always very independent and was busy making plans for a future trip and making renovations to her home when she passed suddenly and peacefully.

She is survived by her sons Larry, David G. Jr, Darius G, Daniel G, her daughter Naomi and several grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, at 2:00pm at Palm Mortuary South Jones. Burial will be held at 9:20am the following morning at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
