Betty Jean Moore

Betty Jean Moore, a long-time resident of the Henderson, died Thursday the 23rd of July. Born in 1937 in Missouri, Betty received her Masters degree in Elementary education majoring in music from UNLV in 1973. Betty taught elementary music in Henderson for over 20 years and worked at various schools throughout that time. She loved teaching and was blessed to be able to touch the lives of many children, even as adults many say that they always remember Mrs. Moore as their teacher. Betty loved to travel, she has been all over the country. She also enjoyed socializing and playing cards with friends, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Moore. She is survived by her children Stephen Moore and Shawna Thomas. Betty had 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of them have brought her great joy throughout the years The viewing will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a funeral to follow on July 28, 2015. The viewing and funeral will be held at Palm Mortuary at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
