It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty A. Byrd, who peacefully left us on April 10, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born February 24, 1930, in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, to Stanley and Viola Arner. She was predeceased by her loving husband Edgar F. Byrd, who served in the U.S. Navy and her son Darryl C. Schwab, who served in the U.S. Air Force. She is survived by her sister Doris Souders; daughters Carol Grady, Eileen Drew, and Donna Osborne (Bryan); 4 grandchildren, Tina Gonzalez, Patrick Grady (Sara), Sean Grady (Melanie), and William Pickard (Mary); 8 great grandchildren Joey, Diego, Reanna, Corbin, Ian, Bridget, Cailan, Bryan, and several nieces and nephews. Most people would remember her as a top seller of Avon in the indoor swap meets (Fantastic and Gemco) for many years and was a Catalog Manager at Sears Roebuck. A private burial will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nevada Veterans Foundation or Infinity Hospice Care.
