Bernice M. Johnson, 91, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011. She was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Los Angeles, and was a 62-year resident of Nevada. Bernice was a retired county government clerk and a member of South Gate Chapter No. 18 OES and Rainbow Girls Assembly No. 9 in Las Vegas. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Johnson, a railroad engineer for Union Pacific for 36 years. Bernice is survived by her sons, Walter L. "Wally" Johnson of Duck Creek Village, Utah, and Norman A. Johnson of Las Vegas; daughter, Nora C. Amren of Kalama, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, May 6. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Park.
