Bayani Hinahon Almario, 98, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022. He was born in 1924 in the Philippines and lived more than half of his life in Salinas, CA. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Rosalinda Javier Almario and his daughter, Rizalina Almario. He is survived by his Son, Benjamin (Lea) Almario of Las Vegas, NV; Son, Bayani Jr. (Remy) Almario of Las Vegas, NV; Son, Bernard (Mina) Almario of Sparks, NV; Daughter, Rosalie Lammers of Salinas; Son, Benedict (Joanne) Almario of San Bruno; Daughter, Rosemary Almario of Salinas; Son, Bryant (Miriam) Almario of Pico Rivera; numerous grandchildren, Christopher (Alison) Almario, Benjamin Almario Jr., Leanne (Samet) Albayrak, David (Patricia) Almario, Jennifer (Russell) Garcia, Cassandra Almario, Vanessa Almario, Joal (Georsy) De Veyra, Bryce Almario, Jaena Almario, Shaundra Taylor, Joshua Label, Jacob Label, Bradley Almario and Brent Almario. Great grand-children, Julianna Garcia, Emery Almario, David (DJ) Almario, Aiden Almario, Ayla Albayrak, Noah De Veyra and Celine Garcia.
Bayani retired from the United States Navy after serving 20+ years. He proudly served during World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. He then retired again after working another 20+ years for the Government (Civil Service) at Fort Ord, CA. He enjoyed gardening, doing projects around the house, watching the San Francisco Giants and the Golden State Warriors on TV, hanging out at Northridge Mall with all of his friends, playing Mahjong and going to the casinos to play Blackjack and 3-Card Poker. Most importantly, Bayani enjoyed spending time with his family including the many relatives in the United States and the Philippines. In closing, our Dad was a devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He always placed the needs of his family and friends above his own needs. The patriarch of the Almario Family will be truly missed.
The first visitation will be held at the Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Road, Las Vegas, NV on Friday, November 25, 2022. Rosary will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitation until 9:00 p.m.
The second visitation will be held at Struve & Laporte Funeral Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Drive, Salinas, CA. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA. Reception to follow at Madonna Del Sasso.
