Barbara Ann Tracy was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Barbara will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Barbara was born on January 27, 1937 at New York Hospital in Manhattan, New York. She was the daughter of Carmine and Josephine Iavarone. Barbara grew up in Middleton, Connecticut.
Barbara had five siblings. She had three older sisters, one older and younger brother. As a young girl, Barbara had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Barbara was an active child who took part in softball. She was a member of the Glee Club. However, to Barbara, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.
A typical teenager, Barbara had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She attended Morgan School in Clinton, Connecticut. Barbara completed 10th grade and left high school to work. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was English.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Barbara enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. In her early life, she became friends with Deloris Fazzino, Joanne King and Joanne Catanzaro.
Barbara married James Tracy on January 14, 1993 in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Empathic and loyal, Barbara was committed to making her new family happy.
Barbara worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Barbara was blessed with two sons, Wayne and Ken. Another blessing for Barbara was the gift of four grandchildren Matt, Mindy, Tanya and Krystal.
Fortunately, Barbara enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Barbara worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Although she worked at various factory and assembly jobs over the years, she was first and foremost a mother and homemaker. Barbara always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Barbara enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were bowling, dancing and collecting porcelain dolls. Barbara's collection was in excess of 70. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Barbara found pleasure in sports. In high school, Barbara played softball. Barbara was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were watching the Boston Red Sox.
Barbara’s faith was important to her. She was a lifelong member of various catholic churches.
Barbara enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included traveling to Las Vegas prior to retiring there in 1997.
Barbara was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was a cat named Smokey. They were best friends for nineteen years.
Barbara passed away on December 17, 2018 at home with her husband Jim by her side.
Simply stated, Barbara was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Barbara leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Barbara Ann Tracy.
