A Tapestry - My Thoughts On How To Say Goodbye
I believe that each person's life is shaped. to some degree, by those around us and that we all carry a tiny spark of each other's essence or spirit within our own souls. It would follow, then, when someone departs from our midst for one reason or another, it would leave a hole, a void, an empty place within our very beings. I will try to fill that empty place with wonderful memories of our time spent together.
I have traveled far through this life. Sometime back near the beginning of my journey I began to incorporate, into my soul, these tiny sparks from the people I met along the way. My very essence is therefore comprised, in part, of these beautiful spirits. At some point in my journey through this life, I began weaving a tapestry, in my mind's eye. A tapestry made up of these essences, these spirits, these souls. The brightest and happiest colors in my tapestry are the essences of my family and lifelong friends with whom I have been so blessed. Other brightly colored essences woven into my tapestry are those myriad brief but meaningful acquaintances, the chance encounters of kindred spirits, and those most precious of individuals who make me happy by just being in my presence. The blessings continue.
My lifelong interaction with so many precious people has inspired me to weave this tapestry of my life; a truly beautiful work of art. Certainly you, my special friend, are among the most glorious and shining of the colors therein and a most welcome part of my own spirit being.
