Bairie Bair, known as “Cubby” to those who knew and loved him, passed away at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 3, 2012. Cubby began his journey in life on August 4, 1943, in the small town of Fallon, Nevada, born to parents Ethel and Bairie. After moving to Las Vegas when he was three years old, Cubby attended public schools including Las Vegas High School, then located in downtown Las Vegas. Before owning his own floor covering business, Cubby worked various jobs, including Centennial Flooring. In 1972, Cubby with his wife, Lola, opened Bair Brothers Flooring, which later became Bair’s Carpet. Through the years, Cubby developed a reputation for quality goods and workmanship, and became a leader in the industry. Cubby will be remembered for his sense of humor, his attention to detail in business, his fairness and compassion to his friends and employees, and his dedication and love for his family. Cubby is survived by the love of his life, Lola, his son Tommy, son, Bobby (Jeanne), and daughter Brooke (Robbie), and six grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the Community Lutheran Church, 3720 East Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for the benefit of Cubby’s wife Lola, at Nevada State Bank under Bairie Bair Memorial Account.
