Ashlee Kauvon Sheppard was the only child born to Marcus Germaine and Kalandra Renee Sheppard on May 25, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV. Ashlee accepted Christ at the very young age of nine years old. She joined and was a member of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church until her passing. Ashley was the beloved grandchild of Elbert Lee and Shirley Sheppard and L.V., and Bennie Thomas. During the twenty years of her life, Ashlee touched the hearts of many, young and old with her bright smile and caring heart. To know her is to love her. At twenty years old Ashlee’s accomplishments were great, and her aspirations were greater. She was an accomplished cheerleader and performer and helped to choreograph many of her squads’ dances over the 12 years in which she cheered. An education was important to Ashlee and her family and that was confirmed through her graduating with High Honors from Rancho High School in 2008. After being offered many scholarships, Ashlee decided to attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she was pursuing a degree in Bio Chemistry to accomplish her life long goal of becoming a Pediatric Surgeon. It was Ashlee’s dream to take care of and treat babies born with deformities. This desire is a testament to her mission to give in the greatest way possible. Prior to her passing, Ashlee was working for the City of Las Vegas Parks and Recreation where she was a summer camp counselor. She enjoyed her work so much that the children almost persuaded her to become a teacher! Her maternal Grandmother Bennie Thomas preceded Ashlee in death. Her love and smile will continue to be cherished in the hearts and minds of her parents, grandparents, Uncles Donnell and Darius, Aunts Kathee and Tameca, Cousins, Jelani and Janyah, a very special friend Kimani Bullard, her “Hermana” Shauntavia Taylor, God sisters Candy Taylor and Brittany Jackson, and a host of other special family members and friends.
