Arthur Kapetansky, 69, of Henderson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 28. Art was born in Los Angeles to Seymour & Sarah (Dobrovitch) Kapetansky. They moved to Detroit, MI when Art was a toddler. He remained in the area until 2001, when he and his loving wife Carleen came to Las Vegas, followed by their 3 children over the next few years. Art lived life passionately, loving music, sports, politics and all-things family. He sang professionally for years, as well as in his synagogue in Detroit and in Henderson. We all knew him as the “Karaoke King” and he made a point to find a place to karaoke in every city he visited. He was also a skilled bowler (very proud of having seven 300 games!) and an extraordinary salesman, winning many awards over his career. It has been said, half his DNA was pure laughter, loving a good pun or joke, and making people laugh, in the true essence of his father. A smile was always quick to his face, & quickly shared. He dearly loved his three children & five grandchildren. He felt so blessed to be involved in all their lives. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, their children Mark (Jacqueline), April (Jeffrey) Sudds, and Michael (Rebecca); his adored mother; sisters Lois Martin, Rita, and COL (R) Shirley J. Lancaster; grandchildren Karter, Lincoln, Zander, Zealyn, and Zavier; his sisters-in-law Lynne Kaleita, Jo Ann Kaleita, & Susan Kaleita; nephew Andrew and niece Jessica; and many other loving family members, & lifelong friends. Services will be on Sunday July 2, 2017 at 9:30am at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas NV. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur’s memory can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Chabad of Green Valley/Henderson or the charity of your choice.
